When Nisha moved into her new apartment, the rent was suspiciously cheap. “One condition,” the landlord said. “Don’t disturb the locked room at the end of the hall. It’s storage.”
Nisha agreed. But late at night, she heard footsteps pacing behind the locked door—and soft humming, like a lullaby.
She asked neighbors. They went quiet. One finally whispered, “The last tenant tried to open it. She never moved out.”
One night, the humming stopped. The door creaked open on its own.
Inside was a mirror—and her reflection was smiling, though she wasn’t.
Now Nisha hums at night.
